When Vin Diesel presented Fast X as official name for the Fast and Furious franchise's last chapter, were many comments about it all over the press on favor and also against. My first thought was that 10 translated to roman numbers come up as X , and also what Vin Diesel's explanation to his fans in Instagram that 10 minds the end of a cycle.
Actually the X in Fast X's goes a little further. X equals 10 and is also a tribute to 'Racer X' the inspiration for the first film of Fast and Furious back in 2001 that was taken from an article featured in the May 1998 issue of Vibe Magazine. "Racer X", written by Ken Li, covered street racing in New York City from the point of view of Rafael Estevez, who was interviewed for the piece.
Director, Rob Cohen, known for films like The Skulls and Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, expressed that he was interested in directing a film about street racing, the people and the lifestyle behind it. Additionally, Cohen attended a street race himself for first hand experience.
Following the purchase to the rights of the name of the 1955 film The Fast and the Furious, the production of the film was able to go forward. Since the first film's release, The Fast and the Furious was compared to the 1991 film Point Break, on account of its plot similarities, however, the original Vibe magazine interview that inspired the film was added to the official DVD release for audience context and clarification. Every year about the same time for the last 15 years Charlize Theron (Cipher) hosted the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project. This year 2022 Summer Block Party held at Universal Studios Backlot was held on on Saturday, June 11 in California.
Guests in attendance included Charlize‘s Atomic Blonde co-star Sofia Boutella, her The Fate of the Furious co-star Jordana Brewster, Haitian rapper Wyclef Jean, along with Jurassic World: Dominion stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Jeff Goldblum and wife Emilie, DeWanda Wise, and Mamoudou Athie. Some UK's publication mentioned the arriving of XXX to the block party, even tho I can't find pictures of Vin Diesel arriving.
Going back to Fast and Furious we have few more short videos taken in Rome and Torino, Italy during May and June this year.
