F9 was originally scheduled for worldwide release by Universal Pictures on April 19, 2019, but was delayed several times. First delay due to the release of the spinoff Hobbs & Shaw (2019) and planned to be release on 2021, delayed again this time due to the Coronavirus' pandemic (COVID-19), a virous that as all you know ended up changing the the lives of millions of people around the world in may different ways.
F9 or F9: The Fast Saga and internationally as Fast & Furious 9 is a 2021 action film directed by Justin Lin from a screenplay by Daniel Casey and Lin. F9 It is the sequel to The Fate of the Furious (2017), which serves as the ninth main installment, and the tenth full-length film in the Fast & Furious franchise.
Justin Lin was confirmed as director in October 2017, returning to the franchise since last directing Fast & Furious 6 (2013). F9 is the first film in the franchise since The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006) not written by Chris Morgan and without Dwayne Johnson, who appeared in the previous four installments, since Fast 5 (2011). Dwayne was announced to return in April 2017, but confirmed his absence in January 2019. The rest of the cast was confirmed and finalized with the addition of John Cena in June 2019.
Production and principal photography began that same June same year and lasted until that November, with filming locations including London, Los Angeles, Tbilisi, and Thailand. With a production budget over $300 million, Fast and Furious 9 is one of the most expensive chapters ever made in the franchise.
The film stars Vin Diesel, Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, John Cena, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Michael Rooker, Helen Mirren, Kurt Russell, and Charlize Theron.
F9 premiered in South Korea and release international on May 19, 2021, it then released in the United Kingdom on June 24 and in Hollywood, California, United States on June 25.
Plot: Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) is living the quiet life off the grid with Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) and Brian his son, even tho them are aware that danger always lurks just over the peaceful horizon. This time, that threat forces Dom to confront the sins of his past to save those he loves most. His crew soon comes together to stop a world-shattering plot by the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they've ever encountered - Jakob! Dom's forsaken brother.
This chapter was a transition from action/spy to action/sentimental because was necessary to go back into the Toretto's family history to re-direct the history line to what is going to be the end of the saga to introduce Dom's forsaken brother Jakob (John Cena). Overall the plot is direct and doesn't miss the point, it gives an overview of how Dom became who he is and why family is such an important thing. Taking into account the sad part of witnessing Jack Toretto's dead and the following separating the siblings. I Personally, think it was very successful to include the trip to space in such an unusual and funny way, it made the viewers distract from the sad part of the plot with lots of laughs.

F9 The Fast Saga set several pandemic box office records and grossed over $726 million worldwide, becoming the fifth-highest-grossing film of 2021.
