As Vin Diesel's said through the post to his Instagram account, he is already in the count down process, preparing for what he calls Fast X2 scheduled to be release on Apil 4, 2025. Vin Diesel's Fast X2 will be released one year later than the original day because Fast and Furious: Hobbs and Reyes (working title), will be released as a bridge in May 2024 between Fast X part one and Fast X2. According to Chris Morgan, the writer of this Hobbs' solo film, it should be called more like Fast X.5.
The feature, written by Chris Morgan, won't be a 'Hobbs & Shaw' sequel — and it's not 'Fast 11.' Think of it more like "Fast X.5."
By Hollywood Reporter
Dwayne Johnson announced that Hobbs is back in the Fast Franchise, and shortly after it was announced that Hobbs would be making his feature-length return in another Fast film. It was made clear via The Hollywood Reporter that this is not Fast XI or a sequel to Johnson's previous spinoff, Hobbs & Shaw. Writer Chris Morgan, said "This is not a Hobbs & Shaw sequel — and it's not 'Fast 11.' Think of it more like 'Fast X.5.'"
This is the third movie Vin Diesel was talking about when saying Fast X was the beginning of a "final trilogy" for the franchise since Fast X2 (or Fast 11), is the only official remaining sequel. As we mentioned in our previous blog, this new Dwayne Johnson-led (is not a "Hobbs Spinoff"). It is the sequel after the events in Fast X and on how agent Luke Hobbs will deal with the repercussions of killing Dante Reyes' father back in Fast Five. This new film has nothing to do with Deckard Shaw, who is on the chase to save his mother Quinee (Maggie) Shaw, played by Helen Mirren.
After the surprise tease at the end of Fast X, Universal is making it official: Dwayne Johnson is back for another Fast and Furious movie.
Johnson will star in an untitled Fast project, Universal and Johnson announced Thursday. Fast mainstay Chris Morgan penned the script. The return is a major reversal for the star, who had insisted, repeatedly, that he was done with the action franchise after clashing with Fast headliner Vin Diesel.
The new project also marks a return for Chris Morgan, who sat out F9 and Fast X but penned six of the main franchise movies as well as the 2019 spinoff, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, which starred Johnson and Jason Statham.
After all this being said, there is another possibility pending, according to the rumors Vin Diesel is not going to be present in this future "Hobbs and Reyes' bridge film, then it is also possible that Dwayne Johnson's return to the Fast and Furious franchise is only into this Hobbs "solo" film, and not into the complete Fast X2 with Vin Diesel and the rest of the team joining the big Fast and Furious finale. So, excuse me but as much as I like Dwayne Johnson's films and career, it sounds to me that Dwayne Johnson's return to the Fast saga is a favor to himself only and not to save the franchise like some peoples is being saying. In other words, it is obvious that Dawyne Johnson is using "again" Vin Diesel's franchise and another of Vin Diesel's characters "Dante Reyes", to restore his own shine imagen across the world, do not get me wrong! I do like Dwayne Johnson. What I do not like is all these comments about Dawyne Johnson coming back to save the franchise when it is Vin Diesel and his carisma the one that is helping Dwayne Johnson again. to save himself to recover his stardom status. Then who is the manipulative buddy between Vin and Dwayne?
'THE ROCK' TO VIN DIESEL YOU'RE BEING MANIPULATIVE, BUDDY ...How Many Times Do I Have To Tell You, I'm Done?
